الملخص
مع تنامي القوّة البحريّة الإنجليزية في العصر الحديث، واتساع إمبراطورتيها التّجارية أصبح تأمين الطرق البحريّة للبحر الأبيض المتوسط أمرًا حتميًا بالنّسبة لها، وهذا ما جعلها تصطدم بالقوّة البحريّة الجزائريّة التي أخذت على عاتقها، مسؤوليّة الجهاد البحري، وتأمين مصالحها الوطنية، من خلال حجز السفن المخالفة لمبادئها، واسر ركابها، وكردّ فعل على ذلك انتهجت إنجلترا سياسة تجاه إيالة الجزائر تتأرجح بين الحلول الدبلوماسية، وسياسة الزوارق البحرية. With growth of English naval, power in the modern era and in the expansion of.
