L'interculturalité Dans Stupeur Et Tremblements D'amélie Nothomb : Choc Culturel Et Dissonance Cognitive

Résumé
- L’objectif de cet article est d’étudier la représentation de l’interculturalité et du choc culturel dans le roman d’Amélie Nothomb Stupeur et Tremblements (1999), en cherchant à montrer que le choc culturel vécu par le personnage principal la rend sujette à une « dissonance cognitive culturelle » en tant que jeune fille belge vivant au Japon. Pour ce faire, nous avons opté pour la théorie sociocritique de Lucien Goldmann, qui nous servira de levier pour établir un lien entre les conceptions socio-culturelles divergentes, issues de la culture belge occidentale et de la culture japonaise, et qui s’articulent autour de plusieurs notions telles que la vie en société, le travail, le temps, et la religion. - The aim of this article is to examine the representation of interculturality and cultural shock in Amélie Nothomb's novel Stupeur et Tremblements (1999), seeking to demonstrate that the cultural shock experienced by the main character makes her susceptible to "cultural cognitive dissonance" as a young Belgian woman living in Japan. To accomplish this, we have chosen Lucien Goldmann's sociocritical theory, which will serve as a framework to establish a connection between the divergent socio-cultural concepts stemming from Western Belgian culture and Japanese culture, revolving around several notions such as societal living, work, time, and religion.
