Environmental Issues And Sustainable Development Through Documentaries On The National Geographic Channel Abu Dhabi - Analytical Study Of "the Earth On The Edge Of The Abyss" Documentary-

Abstract

This study aims to identify how Documentary Films address environmental issues, and their role in highlighting the components of environmental development and encouraging the intensification of efforts aimed at protecting the environment in the world, through the use of descriptive analytical approach and Content Analysis tool on the sample of the study represented in the documentary series "the Earth on the edge of the abyss" broadcast on the National Geographic Channel Abu Dhabi. The study reached a number of results, most notably that these documentaries are an important tool to highlight various environmental problems, and address them in an interesting and exciting way to attract the attention of the target audience, and therefore will be an important media production in revealing what the environment is suffering and presenting appropriate solutions تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على كيفية معالجة الأفلام الوثائقية للقضايا البيئية، ودورها في إبراز مقومات التنمية البيئية والتشجيع على تكثيف الجهود الرامية إلى حماية البيئة في العالم، وذلك عن طريق استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وأداة تحليل المضمون على عينة الدراسة المتمثل في السلسلة الوثائقية " الأرض على حافة الهاوية " التي تبث على قناة ناشيونال جيوغرافيك أبو ظبي، في موسمها الثاني، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى جملة من النتائج أبرزها أن هذه الأفلام الوثائقية هي أداة مهمة لإبراز مختلف المشكلات البيئية، ومعالجتها بأسلوب مشوق ومثير لانتباه الجمهور المستهدف، وبالتالي ستكون إنتاجا إعلاميا هاما في الكشف عن ما تعانيه البيئة وعرض الحلول المناسبة.
