الملخص
ترمي هذه الدراسة إلى استجلاء نظرة المستشرقين من الفن الإسلامي وقد اخترت المستشرق الأمريكي ريتشارد ايتنجهاوزن الذي أولى عناية كبيرة بهذا الفن، والواقع أن أغلب ما كتبه عن الفن الإسلامي بعيد كل البعد عن فلسفته، حيث خلصت جل آرائه إلى القول بأن الحضارة العربية الإسلامية لم تفرز خطاب نظري حول الجمال والابداع الفني إذ من المستحيل أن تجد عند العرب والمسلمين تصوير إسلامي تشيع منه رموز دينية خاصة أو فن زخرفي له معنى أو ذو طابع إسلامي، فكل ما لدينا من فنون مصادرها مؤثرات فنية لشعوب حضارات سابقة. The aim of this study is to identify the views of orientalists in Islamic art. I chose the American orientalist Richard Ettinghausen, who showed great interest in this art. But in fact, we find that most of what he wrote about Islamic art is far from his philosophy, as most of his opinions point to the absence of artistic habits among Arabs and Muslims Most of his views agree that Arab-Islamic civilization has not produced a systematic theoretical discourse on aesthetics and artistic practice. According to his belief, it is impossible to find in Arabs and Muslims an Islamic depiction in which there are special religious symbols or decorative art that has a meaning that expresses the Islamic personality, and all we have of art is the source of the influence of the arts of previous civilizations.
