Academic Achievement In Mathematics And Its Relationship To The Motivation For Achievement Among Second-year Students Of Literature And Philosophy

Abstract

The present study aims to reveal the extent of a correlation between academic achievement in mathematics and motivation for achievement, and to examine the significance of the differences between males and females in the level of motivation for achievement and academic achievement in a sample of 32 single 16 fe.males and 16 males, chosen by means of the intentional sample in the semester The first of the academic year 2019/2020 at Colonel Amirouche Astawali High School. The researcher used the descriptive approach to study the correlation between academic achievement in mathematics and the motivation for achievement and the differences between males and females at the level of each of the two variables. As a result of the study, the first hypothesis that there is a relationship between academic achievement in mathematics and the motivation for achievement was realized. As for the second and third hypotheses, it was not realized, that is, there are no differences in the motivation for achievement due to the gender variable and even for the level of academic achievement in mathematics there are no differences between males and females. تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى الكشف عن مدى وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين الدافعية للإنجاز و التحصيل الدراسي في الرياضيات لدى التلاميذ الأدبيين، وفحص دلالة الفروق بين الذكور والإناث في مستوى الدافعية للإنجاز والتحصيل الدراسي في عينة قوامها 32 مفردة 16 إناث و16 من الذكور، تم اختيارهم عن طريق العينة القصدية وذلك في الفصل الأول من السنة الدراسية 2019 / 2020 بثانوية العقيد عميروش اسطاوالي.. استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي لدراسة العلاقة الارتباطية بين التحصيل الدراسي في الرياضيات والدافعية للإنجاز والفروق بين الذكور والإناث في مستوى كل من المتغيرين. وكنتيجة للدراسة تحققت الفرضية الأولى القائلة بوجود علاقة بين التحصيل الدراسي في الرياضيات والدافعية للإنجاز، أما الفرضيتين الثانية والثالثة فلم تتحقق أي لا توجد فروق في الدافعية للإنجاز تعزى لمتغير الجنس وحتى بالنسبة لمستوى التحصيل الدراسي في الرياضيات لا توجد فروق بين الذكور والإناث.
