الملخص
تشكل الديمقراطية إحدى أهم القيم والمبادئ الأساسية التي يقوم عليها المجتمع الدولي المعاصر، بصفتها النظام السياسي الذي يؤدي إلى تعزيز المشاركة السياسية وسيادة القانون وحماية حقوق الإنسان وحرياته الأساسية، وصولا إلى ربطها بالحفاظ على السلم والأمن الدوليين وتحقيق التنمية ، وهو ما أدى إلى اعتبارها في بعض الحالات كمعيار لشرعية الحكومات في القانون الدولي، لذلك من خلال هذا المقال سوف نحاول تحديد مكانتها وفقا لقواعد القانون الدولي من خلال الوثائق الدولية والتعامل الدولي مع ذلك عن طريق المنظمات الدولية والإقليمية .
