Notoriously in Algeria, the political discourse grants the French language a status of foreign language; however at the university and for pragmatic reasons, it has naturally imposed itself as the language of instruction in the scientific and technical sectors. Programmed as a transversal subject to support new graduates, French is studied as a foreign language in a format unsuited to the needs of students in terms of technolects, where they must above all learn "specialty French". In this article we propose the FOS/FOU approach combined with an online translation as a partial answer to some questions relating to the teaching of French as a foreign language in the Algerian university context.
