Résumé
Dans cet article, qui s’inscrit dans le domaine de la linguistique appliquée, nous nous intéressons à l’idée selon laquelle les enseignants-chercheurs algériens, dans les domaines de spécialité, se positionnent face aux notions de choix et de nécessité quant à l’utilisation d’une langue dans leurs publications scientifiques. L’accent sera mis sur leurs comportements face aux contraintes liées au choix de la langue de diffusion des connaissances dans un milieu professionnel régi par des considérations scientifiques toutes particulières. L’étude qui prend appui sur un entretien semi-directif mené auprès de six enseignantes-chercheuses se spécialisant en sciences biologiques soulignera la nécessité d’opter pour la langue anglaise dans le monde de la recherche scientifique qui est soumis, de manière permanente, à des enjeux scientifiques et professionnels. Elle révèlera également l’exigence de la maîtrise de certaines compétences de rédaction, à la fois, linguistiques, techniques et méthodologiques qui sont en étroite liaison avec les notions de reconnaissance et de visibilité internationale des documents scientifiques. In this article, which is in the field of applied linguistics, we are interested in the idea that Algerian teacher-researchers, in specialized fields, position themselves in relation to the notions of choice and necessity regarding the use of a language in international scientific publications. The focus will be on their behaviour in the face of the constraints related to the choice of language of knowledge dissemination in a professional environment governed by specific scientific considerations. The study, which is based on a semi-directional interview with six teacher-researchers specializing in biological sciences, will highlight the need to opt for the English language in the world of scientific research, which is submitted, on a permanent basis, to scientific and professional issues. It will also reveal the requirement of mastery of certain writing skills, both linguistic, technical and methodological, which are closely linked to the notions of recognition and international visibility of scientific documents.
