Existentialism In The Postwar American Novel: A Feminist Existential Study Of Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar

Abstract
This paper examines existentialism in the postwar American novel, and then critically analyzes Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar using a feminist existentialist approach. The paper moves from existentialism in the 1960s literature, in general, to give context to the novel and feminist existentialism in specific. The paper delves into the intersection of existentialism and feminism in the novel due to the presence of themes of existential angst and the struggles of living in the postwar American patriarchal society. .The Bell Jar يدرس هذا المقال الفلسفة الوجودية في الرواية الأمريكية ما بعد الحرب، ثم تحلل بشكل نقدي نسوي وجودي رواية سيلفيا بلاث تنتقل الدراسة من الفلسفة الوجودية في أدب الستينيات بشكل عام لتقدم سياقا لدراسة الوجودية النسوية في الرواية بشكل خاص. القلق الوجودي، الحالة الانسانية و صراعات العيش في المجتمع الذكوري هي مواضيع تشاركها الفلسفة الوجودية و النسوية Ce document examine l'existentialisme dans le roman américain d'après-guerre, puis analyse de manière critique le roman The Bell Jar de Sylvia Plath en utilisant une approche existentialiste féministe. Le document passe de l'existentialisme dans la littérature des années 1960 en général, pour donner un contexte au roman et à l'existentialisme féministe en particulier. Le document explore l'intersection entre existentialisme et féminisme dans le roman en raison de la présence de thèmes d'angoisse existentielle et des luttes de vivre dans la société patriarcale américaine d'après-guerre.
