"the Dimensions And Motivations Of The Colonial Campaign In The Mediterranean Basin Throughout The19th Century

Abstract
شكل البحر الأبيض المتوسط نقطة التقاء الحضارات مثلما شكل نقطة صراع الحضارات. وقد استعمل كشريان تجاري في كل التحولات الحضارية كما كان شاهدا على الحملات العسكرية المختلفة التي ظهرت خلال القرن التاسع عشر بأبعاد حضارية جديدة فرضها ميزان القوة الذي أفرزته الثورة الصناعية وما صاحبها من الهيمنة الاقتصادية والنهب المبرمج لثروات الشعوب وحملات الإبادة التي عبرت عن البعد الإجرامي للاستعمار، وقد كانت الجزائر صورة من صور الصراع في البحر الأبيض المتوسط حيث هيمنت في مرحلة معينة على البحر الأبيض المتوسط ومع ضعف الدوله العثمانية تعرضت للحملة الاستعمارية الفرنسية الاستيطانية التي مرت بثلاث مراحل أساسية ( الغزو ،السيطرة ، الاستقرار والتوسع) والإشكال المستمر هو ماهي الأبعاد الحضارية في هذا الصراع خلال مختلف المراحل التي مرت بها المنطقة ؟لأن الصراع العسكري لم يخل يوما من مضامين حضارية .لذلك يمكننا ان نعتبر الحملات الاستعمارية في القرن19م حالة من حالات تحول القوة تاريخيا في منطقة المتوسط لكنها لم تكن معزولة عن مراحل الصراع السابقة بقدر ما كانت امتدادا لها ولكن بأبعاد جديدة أسست أيضا لاستمرار تلك الأبعاد في المستقبل. The Mediterranean Sea has been a meeting point for civilizations, just as it has been a point of conflict between civilizations. It has served as a trade route throughout various historical transformations, witnessing different military campaigns that emerged during the 19th century with new dimensions imposed by the Industrial Revolution, economic dominance, planned plundering of nations' wealth, and genocidal colonial campaigns. Algeria, in particular, exemplifies the conflict in the Mediterranean Sea, as it dominated the region at a certain stage before falling under French colonial settlement campaigns, which went through three main phases: invasion, control, stability, and expansion. The conflict continuous question is: what are the cultural dimensions in this conflict during the different stages the region went through? Because military has never been devoid of cultural implications. Thus, we can consider the colonial campaigns in the 19th century as a historical case of power transitions in the Mediterranean region, but they were not isolated from previous stages of conflict, rather an extension of them with new dimensions that also laid the foundation for their continuation in the future.
