Non-verbal Modalities And Vloggers: The Deployment Of Hand Gestures In The Rani Za3fan Video

Abstract

This study examines speech-synchronized hand gestures and demonstrates how certain meanings are enacted and corporated through hand gestures. The descriptive-qualitative method was employed in this study to analyze the hand gestures in a dataset of videos by Anes TINA vlogger "rani Zaafan The study shows that the vlogger employed two distinct types of hand gestures, including metaphoric gestures, which are frequently performed gestures used to convey uneasiness and dissatisfaction with the current social, economic, and political of Algeria, while pointing gestures performed to draw the audience's attention on the details being provided.
