Authors : Mezouri Ettayib . Soufyane Bouguetaia .

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the impact of Corruption on FDI inflows in Maghreb Arab countries for the period of 2000-2020 by the PMG method proposed by Pesaran et al. (1999), according to the grabbing hand and helping hand Hypothesis. The results indicate that Corruption has a negative and significant effect on FDI inflows in both the long run. This is consistent with the “Grabbing Hand” hypothesis of corruption. In addition, this study finds that past levels of FDI, human capital, GDP, international trade, inflation, infrastructure also affect FDI significantly in Maghreb Arab countries
