Mediation And The Legal Translator's Obligation In The Face Of Differing Legal Systems In Algeria: Theoretical Benchmarks

Abstract
The aim of this research is to address the issue of the differences between the legal systems in Algeria and their impact on the work of the legal translator. It is based on purely theoretical aspects that serve as a methodological guide. From this perspective, legal translation is seen as an act of communication in which the translator plays the role of mediator and conciliator between two controversial legal systems. In order for the translator to overcome the dilemma of bijuridism, he or she must fulfill certain obligations, have in-depth knowledge of both legal systems, and know how to conduct documentary research in order to produce a translation that is linguistically and legally equivalent.
