ثقافة الصحة والمرض لكل من الطبيب والمريض وتأثيرها على العملية العلاجية The Culture Of Health And Disease For Both The Doctor And The Patient And Its Impact On The Treatment Process

الملخص

الثقافة كما جاء في تعريف ادوارد تايلور: هي الكل المركب الذي يشمل المعرفة والمعتقدات والفن والأخلاق والقانون والعادات والقدرات التي يكتسبها الفرد كونه عضوا في المجتمع. ومن هذا المنطلق فان المعلومات التي يكتسبها الأفراد عن الصحة والمرض تتأثر بهذه العناصر بدرجات متباينة. وهو ما سيؤثر كذلك نظرتهم لمسببات المرض وطرق العلاج. فالإصابة بالمرض والبحث عن العلاج يتجاوز المريض في اغلب الأحيان إلى المحيطين به (أسرته) والى الطاقم المعالج (الأطباء ومعاونيهم). وفي المستشفيات تقع عملية الاتصال بين ثقافتين متمايزتين: الأولى ثقافة شعبية تعزو المرض إلى ظواهر ثقافية واجتماعية (وهذا لا يخص المجتمعات المتخلفة فقط بل حتى المتقدمة)، والثانية ثقافة علمية تشخص المرض على نحو ما تلقوه في الجامعات والمراكز العلمية. وهذا التباين ينتج صداما في الأفكار والتصورات الذي يؤدي إلى التأثير على العملية العلاجية. Abstract : Culture, as defined by Edward Taylor: It is a complex whole that includes knowledge, beliefs, art, morals, law, customs and abilities acquired by an individual as a member of society. From this point of view, the information acquired by individuals about health and disease is affected by these elements to varying degrees. Which will also affect their view of the causes of the disease and methods of treatment. Infection with the disease and the search for treatment often bypasses the patient to those around him (his family) and to the treating staff (doctors and their assistants). In hospitals, the communication process falls between two distinct cultures: the first is a popular culture that attributes the disease to cultural and social phenomena (and this does not apply to backward societies only, but even developed), and the second is a scientific culture that diagnoses the disease in the way they received in universities and scientific centers. This disparity results in a clash of ideas and perceptions that leads to an impact on the therapeutic process.
