The aim of this literature review is to document relevant aspects of rehabilitation methods for people with hearing impairment using the SUVAG technique. This is by presenting the “verbotonal method", rooted in Guberina’s theory in 1961, which was established by the Yugoslav scholar Petar Guberina. It is a structural linguistic theory based on audio, visual, and tonal approaches, and it is also called the “tonalized pronunciation” method, according to which speech can be rehabilitated for the hard of hearing by stimulating the remaining auditory abilities, after accurately determining the site and type of weakness. Rehabilitation of the residual auditory capacity (residual hearing) is achieved by stimulating all response systems. This is through intensive intervention based on the development and creation of a good rhythm and tone of voice in hearing using sound amplifiers (Suvag device) and focusing on low vibrations (less than 500 Hz) as well as using body movements to help in the production and perception of speech
