Résumé

L’objectif de cet article est d’étudier la possibilité de création d’une monnaie commue « ECO » au sein de la Communauté Économique Des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO), qui éprouve toujours des difficultés dans l’aboutissement de l’intégration monétaire, malgré l’adoption du Programme de Coopération Monétaire. Pour cela, nous avons appliqué les différents critères constituants une ZMO aux économies des pays de la CEDEAO. Le but étant d’analyser les avancées enregistrées dans le projet, les obstacles rencontrés, ainsi que les enjeux et les améliorations à réaliser. Les résultats montrent qu’en dépit des retards cumulés, certaines avancées ont pu être accomplies, telles : la zone de libre échange, l’union douanière, et l’intégration des marchés boursiers. Abstract The objective of this article is to study the possibility of creating a common "ECO" currency within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which is still experiencing difficulties in the achievement of monetary integration, despite the adoption of the Monetary Cooperation Programme. For this, we applied the various criteria constituting an OZ to the economies of the ECOWAS countries. The aim is to analyze the progress made in the project, the obstacles encountered, as well as the challenges and the improvements to be made. The results show that despite the cumulative delays, some progress has been made, such as: the free trade area, the customs union, and the integration of stock markets. ملخص الهدف من هذا المقال هو دراسة إمكانية إنشاء عملة "منظمة التعاون الاقتصادي" مشتركة داخل المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب إفريقيا (إيكواس) ، والتي لا تزال تواجه صعوبات في تحقيق التكامل النقدي ، على الرغم من اعتماد برنامج التعاون النقدي. لهذا ، قمنا بتطبيق المعايير المختلفة التي تشكل منطقة مثلى نقدية على اقتصادات دول الإيكواس. والهدف من ذلك هو تحليل التقدم المحرز في المشروع ، والعقبات التي واجهتها ، فضلا عن التحديات والتحسينات التي يتعين القيام بها. وأظهرت النتائج أنه بالرغم من التأخيرات المتراكمة ، فقد تم إحراز بعض التقدم ، مثل منطقة التجارة الحرة ، والاتحاد الجمركي ، وتكامل أسواق الأوراق المالية.
