ملخص مقال: الخلافة عند الشيعة الاثني عشرية يؤمن الشيعة الاثني عشرية أنّ نصب الإمام أو خليفة المسلمين أمر عقدي، حسمه الوحي، فلا بد أن ينص الاله على الخليفة، ويوصي الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم له بذلك. وقد وقع جراء هذا الاعتقاد خلاف كبير، أدى إلى بروز قراءتين مختلفتين. لذلك يرى الشيعة أن الخلافة والإمامة بعد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم هي من نصيب علي رضي الله عنه، وقد ثبت له ذلك بالقرآن والسنة، في حين حصل تعد كبير، وظلم عظيم من جلّ الصحابة، ومنعوا عليا رضي الله عنه حقه، ومن بعده أبناءه. وعلى هذا الرأي بنى الشيعة عقيدتهم. Summary of the article “The Caliphate from a Twelver Shiites perspective” The Twelver Shiites believe that the appointment of the imam or caliph of the Muslims is a matter that is strictly related to doctrine and decided by divine revelation. So the caliph according to them has to be chosen by God, and recommended by the Messenger, (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him). As a consequence of this belief, a major disagreement ensued leading to the emergence of two different interpretations. Therefore, the Shiites believe that, as proven by the Qur’an and Sunnah, the caliphate and the imamate after the Messenger of God, (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him), is the exclusive right of Ali, (may God be pleased with him). However he was the victim of a great injustice when he and his descendants were denied this right by the Companions. It is this particular perspective which has greatly shaped the Shiite faith
