When we use a foreign language, we can make mistakes due to influence of our native language - errors in pronunciation, grammar and other language levels - often referred to as interference. Knowledge of these differences is important in order to learn the correct and idiomatic use of the foreign language. This is a contrastive investigation. I chose this topic because I noticed that the learners in the written work have a lack of use of the past tense. They often make good progress in perfect; even if they still have problems in this Simple Past tense, the perfect is easy to use in writing than the Simple Past. The goal is to analyze these difficulties of the past tense on the basis of the learners' written work, how often have the students used the perfect and the Simple Past tense in their written work?
Perfect ; past simple ; error ; interference ; difficulties
