الملخص
تتناول هذه الدراسة شخصية الشيخ أحمد بن عليوة مؤسس الطريقة العلاوية التي ذاع صيتها في الثلث الأول من القرن العشرين بشكل لافت أثار الكثير من الجدل حول المكانة الدينية والعلمية للرجل، وإذا كان رجال الحركة الإصلاحية في الجزائر قد هاجموا صوفية الشيخ بن عليوة وقللوا من مكانته العلمية، فإن البعض اعتبروه من علماء العصر ومن المجددين في التصوف، لكن الأكيد أن بن عليوة لم يكن شخصا عاديا بين معاصريه فقد كان يتوقد ذكاء ودهاء في معاملة الناس فكانت له قوة التأثير على كل زواره سواء من أتباعه ومريديه أو حتى من خصومه ومقاومي طريقته. This present paper discusses the distinguished character of Sheikh Ahmed bin Aliwa, the founder of the Alawi Tariq or Sect, which became famous in the first third of the twentieth century in many remarkable ways. Since its inception, it raised a lot of controversy about the religious and scientific stature of its founder. Some considered him to be one of the scholars of the modern era and a prominent innovator of Sufism. Notwithstanding, others considered his thought controversial, questionable or disdainful. One thing is certain, however, Ibn Aliwa was not an ordinary person among his contemporaries. He was intelligent and politically cunning in dealing with his surroundings, and he had the power and charisma to influence all his visitors, his followers and disciples, or even from his opponents of his Tariq
