A mathematical model is developed for a hybr"id stepping motor and then a numerical simulation is provided in view of studing the behaviour of the motor chiefly in dynamic start regime and in steady-state. The differential equations of the del are solved using an advanced continuous simulation language called ACSL. The motor is first tested by numerical imulation in dynamic start regime with constant frequency of input pulses and with different laws for varying this frequency determining the optimal law for motor acceleration, and second by improving the average torque of the motor in steady-state The method presented here for this aim is generally valid for a wide range of hybrid stepping motors,
