الملخص
رفضت السلطات الاستعمارية أي اتصال مع من تصفهم بالخارجين عن القانون عند بداية الثورة التحريرية، لكن صمود الشعب الجزائر طوال عام 1955 رغم كل المحاولات والمساعي التي اتخذها جيش الاحتلال في إطار قانون الطوارئ المفروض منذ شهر أفريل برهن على أن الثورة لا تقهر بالقوة ما دامت معززة بأجهزتها،وقادتها العازمون على مواصلة العمل المسلح،وما على الحكومة الفرنسية إلا الاتصال بهؤلاء لإيجاد الحل المناسب،غير أن السلطات الاستعمارية استمرت في تعنتها ،وهو ما جعلها في 05 أوت 1955 تمديد حالة الطوارئ لستة أشهر أخرى،معتقدة أن النصر سيكون عسكريا،لكن ذلك الاعتقاد سرعان ما تبدد بفعل أحداث 20 أوت 1955. ونتيجة لذلك أدركت إدارة الاحتلال أن الحل العسكري وحده لن يوفر السلم والأمن للأوروبيين في الجزائر،ولذا ما كان عليها إلا أن تتصل بقادة الثورة للتفاوض وعلى هذا الأساس بدأ الفرنسيون منذ عام 1956 سياسة جس النبض لمعرفة أهداف هذه الثورة. Abstract. The colonial authorities confirmed that a military solution does not guarantee the security of the Europeans in Algeria, they had only to contact the leaders of the revolution, to negotiate and on this basis the French began since 1956 to try to know the objectives of this revolution by confidential contacts between 1956-1958, and 1958-1960 discussions and at the end of public negotiations in 1962
