Auteurs : Kasmi Hafida .

Résumé

The French theater is characterized by the updating of the ancient myths. They are not copied but closer to contemporary audiences. Francophone playwrights as Kateb Yacine and Wajdi Mouawad make use of the Oedipus myth in a contemporary concern of identity, in need of belonging and the desire for emancipation. They want to paint through the story of Oedipus their tragic world, traumatized by the war and the fate of human beings living such a condition of life.
