Essential oils (EO) from Thymus fontanesii Boiss et Reut. and Rosmarinus officinalis L. were tested on nine nosocomial bacteria isolated from Khemis Miliana hospital (Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pyogénes, Escherchia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Neisseria meningitidis and Enterococcus). The best active EO obtained from R. officinalis L.with varied MIC from 0.1 mg/ml (Klebsiella pneumoniae) to 100 mg/ml (Pseudomonas aeruginosa et Entérococcus). EO obtained from T. fontanesii Boiss et Reut inhibit the most tested bacteria. GC MS analysis indicate the presence of α-pinène (37.31 %) and thymol (10.55%) in T. fontanesii Boiss et Reut EO and 1.8-cinéol (13.98 %), linalool (12.03), camphre (11.71 %) in EO from R. officinalis L.
