This article examines the value of philosophy through the definitions of Roman Stoics –such as Seneca and Epictetus–. We notice that their definitions presented a special connection between logical judgement and the health of the soul, because they believed that our psychological disorders related to misjudgment or misperception. Regrettably, This new conception of philosophy are rejected by many calssical philosophers, but, on the other hand, some contemporary thinkers in differents fields appreciated this vision.
