Abstract Novel writing is based on subjectivities represented by the characters which are constructed by the author. The universe, in which they are staged, suggests connections between these characters and reveals the functioning rules of the groups they belong to. Isn’t it, precisely, one of the projects of social sciences to link individual biographies with the social universe? The text presented here tries to show how, through Lwali n udrar, Bélaïd Aït Ali was also a social analyst.
