الملخص

Abstract This study is concerned with the analysis of thenature of the problem of language tea ching / learning. The purpose is to examine the possibility to develop some views and insights that may be used to enrich the current literature in the Algerian context. Qualitative research methodology has been employed and content analysis as a technique to collect related data has been used. The findings show that language is a set of sounds before it is seen as written symbols. Language learning starts first by listening and pronunciation skills. Even though, the correct pronunciation is necessary but not enough; it has to be relocating to the control of the linguistic structures that makes the learner able to express his thoughts properly. And the understanding of the cultural and social context in which the linguistic structures are used is indispensable. It is not enough to learn the language structures since we must go beyond in order to acquire other skills. Finally, the biggest challenge is to the necessity to practically move from, teaching our students the rules of language, styles and different definitions and knowledge 2 of language to how to perform efficiently the actual needed communication process as required on the ground.
