The economic downturn triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic led to significant job losses, causing a surge in the unemployment rate throughout 2020. Despite considerable progress in controlling the spread of the virus by the end of 2021, the labour market had not yet fully rebounded. This study assesses the impact of this crisis on key labour market variables, such as unemployment, employment, and highlights on the future of work after the pandemic.
