الملخص
The current countries of the Maghreb, which are unable to meet the food needs of their population with wheat, were known as "Granary of Roma" in antiquity. The stark contrast between the proverbial affluence of the Roman period and the present misery should be the starting point for any study of the agricultural economy of the Maghreb.
