The study of the influence of Western schools of criticism and their methods on the Arab criticism formed a remarkable phenomenon in the Arab studies from the beginning of the last century, and that is what led to the emergence of other studies trying to put the theoritical and methodological frames of such studies, and the migration of theories and the factors of their movement from the western enviroment to the Arab one, is considered as an important link in the studies influence and impact. In this article, we try to highlight the most important external factors that contributed to the transmission of the the western schools of Criticism to the Arab world such as the ascendancy of the Shakespearean tongue, missionaries and Orientalism.
