In the present work we assessed the different facets of biodiversity in 10 habitats using the phy-tosociological method. The aim of this study was to highlight the habitats most favourable to biodiversity. The Matorral with Tetraclinis articulata and Phillyrea, the Matorral with Tetraclinis ar-ticulata and Rosemarinus and the Quercus coccifera scrub formation appeared to be the most diver-sified in terms of biodiversity and Pre-steppe formation is poor (interms of plant diversity). However, and generally speaking, biodiversity is maximal for the more or less open tree ma-torrals; which decreases in the case of degradation and closure of the environment. It should be stressed that all habitats present a particular flora that is very important for the conservation of the Saida Mountains.
