Résumé
Summary The objective of our work is to evaluate the morpho-functional profile and its impact on the performance of athletes in different speed races in athletics. In Algeria, the evolution of performance in athletics has been observed continuously, mainly in middle-distance races, and in some technical disciplines such as the men's high jump and the men's long jump. Unlike speed races, where there is a considerable delay between the national and international level. Indeed, the situation of this speed athletic discipline is certainly one of the most worrying. The level of the national performances of its two specialties during these last years, showed an instability, not to say regression which is accentuated by the delay, already considerable, which it accuses compared to the international level and this, in spite of the emergence of some high-level athletes. The realization of our experiment focused on a population of thirty-one (31) athletes, evolving in different clubs, with an average age of 24.84 ± 3.67, an average height of 178.03 ± 8.17 and a average weight of 75.19±7.61. These athletes have been practicing regular physical training for more than 8 years. National team athletes playing in their home clubs and outside the groupings have a weekly training volume that varies from one club to another. From the statistical analysis, we noticed that significant differences were detected between the sprint athletes (100, 200 and 400 meters) on the physical level. In conclusion, in view of our results, the qualities of power seem to characterize athletes with a high level of performance.
