The Impact Of Manufacturing Industries On Sustainable Development In Saudi Arabia

Abstract
The manufacturing industries sector is extremely important, especially for oil countries, aiming at protecting their economy from the imbalances resulting from sharp fluctuations in oil prices and achieving economic stability. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to identify the experience of Saudi Arabia in developing the manufacturing sector, as well as trying to build a standard model of the impact of manufacturing industries on sustainable development. To achieve that purpose, we initially shed light on the manufacturing industries sector indicators, such as value added, exports, capital accumulation and employment in the sector. Through the study, we reached a noticeable trend in the Saudi Arabia towards achieving economic diversification by developing the manufacturing sector. We also reached, through the standard model, the positive impact of the manufacturing industries on sustainable development in the country. يلعب قطاع الصناعات التحويلية دورا حيويا في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة خاصة بالنسبة للدول النفطية، وذلك بهدف حماية اقتصادها من الاختلالات الناتجة عن التقلبات الحادة في أسعار النفط وتحقيق الاستقرار الاقتصادي. انطلاقا من ذلك، كان الغرض من الدراسة التعرف على تجربة المملكة العربية السعودية في تطوير قطاع الصناعات التحويلية، فضلا عن محاولة بناء نموذج قياسي لأثر الصناعات التحويلية على التنمية المستدامة. لتحقيق هذا الغرض، سلطنا الضوء في البداية على مؤشرات تطور قطاع الصناعات التحويلية، على غرار الناتج المحلي والصادرات والواردات وتراكم رأس المال وكذا العمالة في هذا القطاع. توصلنا من خلال الدراسة إلى توجه المملكة بشكل ملحوظ نحو تنويع اقتصادها لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة من خلال تطوير قطاع الصناعات التحويلية وفك ارتباط اقتصادها بالنفط. كما توصلنا من خلال النموذج القياسي إلى الأثر الايجابي لقطاع الصناعات التحويلية على التنمية المستدامة في المملكة.
