The U.S.-China relationship over the COVID-19 pandemic has heightened global concerns that it may lead to a serious confrontation in the future. This article, investigates the U.S-China relations in the light of the impacts of the pandemic. This paper uses descriptive and analytical methods to approach its aim which is to understand the reasons behind the war of words that had been waged by Donald Trump. It is found that Trump employed this rhetoric of hostility for domestic purposes. This hostility stems from the increasing pressure of 2021 presidential election and the democrats accusations of his failure in containing the pandemic.
