Résumé — Sourire grimé, démesuré, sinistre ou terrifiant, et si le succès et la notoriété d’un livre seraient suspendus à la bouche d’un acteur ? Du graphique au visuel, cet article cherche à comprendre l’influence qu’exerce le rire démoniaque de l’acteur sur la perception du méchant personnage romanesque une fois porté aux écrans. Au travers d’une analyse de l’image du rire malveillant et une réflexion sur l’archétype du méchant personnage véhiculé par le cinéma, nous étudierons ce passage du rire démoniaque dans la culture populaire et son impact sur l’œuvre livresque. Abstract — A grimace, oversized, sinister or terrifying smile, what if the success and notoriety of a book hangs in the mouth of an actor? From graphic to visual, this article seeks to understand the influence that the actor's demonic laughter has on the perception of the wicked romantic character once brought to the screens. Through an analysis of the image of malicious laughter and a reflection on the archetype of the villainous character conveyed by cinema, we will study this passage of demonic laughter in popular culture and its impact on the work of the book.
