This study aims to discover the reality of practicing strategic vigilance area’s (technological, competitive, commercial and environmental) on 10 businesses in Jijel. To achieve objectives of study, 60 questionnaires were distributed to managers and chefs of departments. The study found that there is a medium to slightly high level of practicing the types of strategic vigilance, and thus the respondents' awareness of the importance of strategic vigilance as a modern information management tool. The results were interpreted and discussed, and proposals were presented, the most important of which was the need to create a cell for strategic vigilance at businesses
