الملخص
مدينة الموصل، تلك الواجهة الحضارية الكبرى للعراق، بما ضمت من حضارات كبرى قامت على أرضها، تعد أحد المراكز المهمة للتراث العالمي.. مدينة الموصل، تلك الواجهة الحضارية الكبرى للعراق، بما ضمت من حضارات كبرى قامت على أرضها، تعد أحد المراكز المهمة للتراث العالمي، ظلت لسنوات في قبضة تنظيم إرهابي يمارس بمعالمها الحضارية أقسى مظاهر النهب والتدمير والتشويه . ويصل عدد المواقع الأثرية في الموصل، وفقاً لبيانات وزارة السياحة والآثار العراقية، إلى 1791 موقعاً أثرياً و250 مبنى تراثياً، و20 مكتبة ضخمة تحوي مخطوطات إسلامية مهمة، كانت وما زالت هدفاً لتنظيم داعش، الذي سعى لمحو حضارتها وتاريخها باستهداف أماكنها الدينية المقدسة ومتاحفها الأثرية ومكانتها الثقافية الضاربة في جذور التاريخ.
