thetitle of “The Neogrammarians’ Attitude Towards the Grammatical Justification in the Light of Modern LinguisticStudyMethods” has four sections. Section One is entitled “The Descriptive Method and the Grammatical Justification”. I have found that the supporters of this orientation start from the descriptive linguistics to study formally Arabic grammar excluding the grammatical justification, and I have selected four whose opinions are suitable for discussion and for presenting: Ibrahim Anis, AbdArrehmanAyoub, Temmam Hassan and Ibrahim Assamera’i. Section two is entitled “The Explanatory Method and the Grammatical Justification”. The supporter of this orientation started from transformational-generative method in their study of Arabic grammar in an explanatory way. I have selected four whose opinions are suitable for discussion and for presenting: Mohamed Ali Alkholi, MazenAlwa’er, AbdAlkaderAlfassi and Alfehri. I have been obliged to deal with the concept of explanation in Chomsky’s transformational-generative theory in order to settle a comparison between it and justification in the Arabic grammar. I have dealt with the explanatory model in functional linguistics taking JaafarDakAlbab’s and Ahmed Almotawakel’s opinions as an example.
