ملخّص: حاولتْ هذه الدراسة تجلية مصطلح السبك، والوقوف على مفهومه في النقد العربيّ القديم. وفي سبيل ذلك تناولتْ أوّلًا السبك في معاجم اللغة. ثمَّ تتبّعتْ سياقات استعماله في النقد العربيّ القديم. ثمّ درستْ السبك وهو واقعٌ بين ما يجاوره في التراث النقديّ من مصطلحاتٍ مقترنةٍ أو موازيةٍ. وعقدتْ أخيرًا مقارنةً بين دلالة السبك في لسانيّات النصّ المعاصرة ودلالته في النقد العربيّ القديم. Abstract This paper attempts to clarify cohesion, and what it conveys in the era of Old Arabic literary criticism. In order to do that, firstly, I examined cohesion in language dictionaries. Consequently, I observed the contextual usage of cohesion in those structures particularly in terms of old literary criticism. After that, I studied cohesion in Old Arabic dealing with literary criticism whether it is used with terminological collocations or alongside its synonyms. Finally, I conducted a comparison between cohesive meaning in contemporary textual linguistics and that of old Arabic criticism.
