Applied Linguistics” is a reviewed scientific journal issued biannually by the laboratory of “Applied linguistics and Language Teaching” in the University of Algiers 2. It publishes original scientific research papers specialized in applied linguistics bound to the following fields of knowledge: language didactics, cognitive psychology, phonetics, automatic language processing, terminology, lexicology, sociolinguistics, machine translation and the like. It is committed to publish in Arabic, French, English,Russian,Italian, Spanish and German. The journal aims at: - being among the upscale databases to gain a vast readability, - accessing international accredited classification, - and contributing in the publication of upscale researches approved in promoting researchers internationally.

علاقة التنغيم بالظواهر السياقيّة الأخرى

الملخص: يدور هذا البحث حول علاقة ظاهرة سياقيّة في اللغة مع غيرها من الظواهر الموقعيّة الأخرى، التي يُفترض أن تتداخل معها في مواطن محدّدة، هذه الظاهرة تدعى: التنغيم. حيث تسعى الدراسة إلى كشف تلك الأوجه التي تتواشج فيها الظاهرة مع كل من: المقطع الصوتيّ، النبر الموسيقيّ، الوقف، والتعرفّ في النهاية حول ما إذا كانت هذه الظواهر خادمة لبعضها أم لا. This research revolves around the relationship of a contextual phenomenon in language with other contextual phenomena, which are supposed to overlap with it in specific places. This phenomenon is called: intonation. The study seeks to reveal the aspects in which the phenomenon interacts with: syllable, the musical stress, the pause, and ultimately identify whether these phenomena serve each other or not.

الملخص: تهدف هذه الدّراسة إلى تسليط الضّوء على بعض الجهود المصطلحيّة ﻟ "ابن خلدون"؛ بوصفه أحد أبرز المربّين المسلمين القدماء الّذين كان لهم فضل التّأليف في التّربية والتّعليم، وذلك بالنّظر إلى كيفية توظيفه ومعالجته للمصطلح التّعليميّ من خلال الوقوف على المصطلحات الخاصّة بالطّرائق التّعليميّة في كتابه "المقدّمة" وتناولها بالدّراسة والتّحليل من حيثُ بُناها ومفاهيمها، مع تبيان مدى فاعليتها اليوم ومقاربتها لما جاء من مصطلحات في الدّراسات التّربويّة الحديثة خاصّة في مجال تعليميّة اللّغة. This study seeks to scrutinize the terminological contributions of Ibn Khaldun, a preeminent ancient Muslim educator recognized for his seminal works in pedagogy and education. The focus of this analysis is on his adept utilization and examination of educational terminology, specifically pertaining to teaching methods, as elucidated in his magnum opus "Al-Muqaddimah." The research involves a meticulous examination of these terms, delving into their structural composition and conceptual underpinnings. Additionally, the study appraises the contemporary relevance of these terminologies, assessing their resonance with modern educational paradigms, with a particular emphasis on the domain of language didactics.

مشكلات الهمزة: من تمثيل الصوت إلى مرسوم الخط

الملخص: نحاول من خلال هذا البحث تقديم مقاربة لسانية لمشكلة الهمزة العربية من تدوينها في الخط إلى تمثيلها في الحاسوب، في إطار تمثيل الألفباء العربي ومعالجته آليا. وهي مشكلة تتأرجح بين النظام الإملائي خاصة، ونظام الكتابة العربية عموما. فإملاء الهمزة يقوم على مبدأ صوتي، ولذلك اتسم رسمها بتنوع الصور وقواعدها بالتعدد. وأما نظام الكتابة، فقد تخلى عن تدوين الحركات القصيرة التي تعد من أهم الأسس التي بنيت عليه منظومة تلك القواعد. وشكَل كل ذلك مصدرا للكثير من الأخطاء في مستوى الإنجاز الخطي وصعوبات في مستوى الطباعة. وفي ضوء ما سبق، ننطلق في هذه الدراسة من قواعد تدوين الهمزة والأساس الذي بنيت عليه مع تتضمنه من مشكلات لنناقشها في مستوى تمثيلها في الحاسوب. Through this research, we attempt to provide a linguistic approach to the issue of Arabic hamza, from its graphic transcription to its representation in computer systems, within the framework of Arabic alphabet representation and automated processing. This is a problem that oscillates between the spelling system, particularly, and the Arabic writing system in general. The spelling of hamza is based on a phonetic principle, hence its transcription is characterized by a variety of forms and its rules by plurality. As for the writing system, it has abandoned the notation of short vowels, which are among the most important bases upon which that system of rules was built. All of this has been a source of many errors in handwriting and difficulties in printing. In light of the foregoing, we embark on this study from the rules of hamza transcription and the foundation upon which it was built, including the problems it entails, to be discussed in terms of its automatic representation.

Ellipsis in Textual Linguistics and Arabic Rhetoric

Résumé: This study attempts to reconcile the concepts of textual linguistics with the old Arabic rhetorical studies in terms of the means of ellipsis. It also attempts to identify the common interests between the two fields and to bring the concepts closer to each other. It also seeks to highlight the role of the old Arabic rhetoricians in the "textual approach" and to prove this trend, even if the term "text" is absent in their writings. This study, while attempting to reconcile, does not aim to establish textual linguistics, but rather refers to glimpses of the efforts of Arabic rhetoric in trying to understand the text as an integrated whole. Finally, these pages attempt to highlight the importance of "Ellipsis" in terms of the coherence and cohesion of the text, and its importance in making the reception a process characterized by a great deal of productivity and participation in the creation of meaning through the process of linking elements and filling in the gaps that permeate the text.
