The Outcast Of Black Women From The Ideal Womanhood In Sula, The Bluest Eye, The Color Purple, And Possessing The Secret Of Joy: A Comparative Analysis Of Wifehood, Motherhood, Beauty, And Purity

Abstract
Summary: This article aims at exploring the role of racism, sexism, and classism in the outcast of black women from the ideal womanhood in Toni Morrison’s Sula and The Bluest Eye and Alice Walker’s The Color Purple and Possessing the Secret of Joy. Using Patricia Hill Collins’ intersectionality and through a comparative analysis, this paper explores black females’ gender roles in Morrison’s and Walker’s selected novels and the extent to which these roles fall outside the traditional standards of womanhood, which are mainly related to women’s roles as wives and mothers and to their purity and beauty. The study concludes that racism, sexism, and classism make the black woman the antithesis of the ideal woman. Résumé Cet article discute le rôle du racisme, du sexisme et du classisme dans l’exclusion des femmes noires du concept hégémonique de la féminité dans «Sula» et « L'œil le plus bleu » de Toni Morrison et « La couleur pourpre » et « Le secret de la joie » d’Alice Walker. En utilisant l’intersectionnalité de Patricia Hill Collins, cet article compare les roles du genre de la femme idéale, qui sont principalement liés à son rôle d'épouse et de mère, sa pureté et sa beauté, avec les roles du genre des femmes noires, afin de voir à quel point la femme noire tombe en dehors des normes traditionnelles de la féminité. L’article conclut que le racisme, le sexisme et le classisme font de la femme noire l'antithèse de la femme idéale. الملخص يتناول هذا المقال دور العنصرية والتمييز الجنسي والطبقي في إبعاد النساء السود عن مفهوم الأنثوية المثالية في روايتي الكاتبة توني موريسون "صولا" و "أكثر العيون زرقة" و روايتي الكاتبة أليس ووكر "اللون الأرجواني" و "امتلاك أسرار الفرح" . من خلال تحليل مقارن و باستعمال مفهوم تقاطع الأشكال المختلفة للقمع لباتريشيا هيل كولينز ، يحلل المقال أدوار المرأة السوداء ومدى اختلافها عن معايير الأنوثة التقليدية و التي ترتبط أساسا بأدوارالمرأة كزوجة وأم ، نقاؤها وجمالها . استنتجت الدراسة أن العنصرية والتمييز الجنسي والطبقي تجعل من الأنوثة السوداء نقيض الأنوثة المثالية.
