مساعي هيثوم الأوّل، ملك أرمينيا الصغرى، لحلف المغول في حرب المسلمين، في الفترة 1244-1255م.

الملخص
الملخص : شكّل المشرق الإسلامي منذ أن وطأته أقدام الصليبيين، بؤرة توتّر حقيقي ومنطقة صدام أزلي بين حضارتين مختلفتين، شرقية إسلاميّة وغربيّة مسيحيّة. وفي خضمّ هذا الصراع ظهرت القوّة المغوليّة الفتيّة، فأوجس كلا المعسكرين خيفة منها، لاكتساحها حيزا واسعا من أراضيها وارتكابها فضائع في أرواح مواطنيها، فكانت البابويّة والإمارات المسيحيّة، في أوربا والمشرق، سبّاقة إلى محاولة عقد تحالف مع المغول علّها تُثنيها عن غزو الأراضي المسيحيّة وتوجيه ضربة موحدة وموجعة للعالم الإسلامي، إلا أنّ تلك المساعي الحثيثة باءت بالفشل، ثمّ لاحت في الأفق بوادر الانفراج بتمكّن الملك الأرميني هيثوم الأوّل في استعطاف أباطرة المغول بتقديم ولاء طاعته، ما أدّى في النهاية إلى تحالف تاريخي بين إيديولوجيّتين مختلفتين تمكن من تدمير معقل الخلافة العباسيّة. Traduction : Les croisades avaient constitués en orient et au moyen âge, un long Périple qui n’en finissait pas, entre deux rivaux tout à fais distincts. Mais au début du 13eme siècle apparut une nouvelle puissance assai effrayante et destructrice au point de la comparer aux invasions germaniques ou aux fameux destructeurs Gog et Magogues. Cela dit, et en vue d’empêcher l’avancée de cette vague ravageuse au dépend des croisés en orient et des territoires européens en occident, il était primordial d’envisager une alliance avec ces derniers en vue de les désengager de leur mission et de autres combiner leurs efforts contre du Khalifa de Baghdâd et des puissances musulmans, ennemis jurés de la papauté, mais en fin de compte les pourparlers furent un désastre. Tout fois une lueur d’espoir apparut en la personne du roi de la Petite Arménie, Hethoum I, qui réussit, par plusieurs voltiges et en se proclamant à leur services, persuada le grand khan mongol à une telle alliance qui aboutie en fin de compte à la chute de Baghdâd et le meurtre du Khalifa. Abstract : The Crusades had made, in the East during the Middle Ages, long Journey that never stopped between two rivals just do separate. But at the beginning of the 13th century appeared a new power frightening and destructive to the point of comparing the Germanic invasions or destructive famous Gog and Magogues. That said, and to prevent the spread of this devastating wave at the expense of the Crusaders in the East or in the West European territories, it was essential to consider an alliance with them to disengage their mission and redirect their efforts together to wards the Khalifa of Baghdad and other Muslim powers, sworn enemies of the papacy, the talks were a disaster. Any time a glimmer of hope appeared in the person of the King of Lesser Armenia, Hethoum I, who succeeded by several acrobatics and proclaiming their services persuaded the great Mongol khan such an alliance led ultimately to the fall of Baghdad and the murder of Khalifa.
