The deformation behaviour of a mi- . croaloyed steel (industrial nuance) has been studied by compression testing at temperatures between 700°C and 1050°C and at rates varying between 10-1 S-1 and 10-4 S-1. From microstructural pictures and the sbspe of the streess-strain curves, it is observed that the dynamic recovery is dominant up to 950° C . At 850°C, the stress and the strain at the maxi- mum peak increase probably due to strain-induced precipitations and the two-phase domain. The evolutions of the strain rate sen- sitivity with temperature and strain are complex but can be related to grain size variations at 1050°C and mixing of phases at intermediate temperatures. Values of the mean activation energies increase after that the two-phase domain (65 to 110 Kcallmol) is transformed to the austenitic one (298 to 320 Kcallmol) from change of the dominant dynamic process.
