الملخص: يعد البعد البيئي أحد أبعاد التنمية المعاصرة الذي تفرض من خلاله ضرورة المحافظة على قاعدة ثابتة من الموارد الطبيعية بإتباع أساليب إنتاج واستغلال للموارد الطبيعية بشكل عقلاني يضمن من خلاله تحقيق أمن بيئي لاسيما في ظل ما يشهده واقع البيئة من تلوث واستنزاف لمواردها وإخلال بتوازنها، ما يفسر عالمية قضية البيئة من جهة وضرورة التصدي للمشاكل التي تهددها من جهة أخرى، وهو ما تهدف إليه كل الدول، وذلك باعتماد سياسات تنموية هادفة، وإعداد برامج إنمائية، وسن تشريعات بخصوص الشأن البيئي إلى جانب القيام بتجارب في مجال المحافظة على البيئة، والتي من بينها تجربة العمل الخيري عامة، والعمل الخيري الوقفي خاصة في مجال حماية البيئة وتوفير أمن مائي مستدام وذلك من خلال وقف المياه واستثمار أموال وقفية في مجال حماية البيئة والمحافظة عليها. كما أثبت تاريخ نظام الوقف والخبرة الإسلامية في مجال الوقف أنه أسس لما يعرف حاليا بالتنمية المستدامة وبما تحمله من أبعاد تنموية شاملة بما فيها البعد البيئي، وذلك من خلال الخاصية التي يمتاز بها عن باقي الأنظمة الخيرية الأخرى إلزامية كانت أو طوعية وهي مبدأ استدامة التحبيس واستمرارية التسبيل عبر ضمانة أن تظل الأملاك الموقوفة مستغلة فيما خصصت له تنتقل من جيل إلى آخر بشكل عادل في الاستفادة من خيرات الطبيعة وما تجود به .
