Le Concept De Aḫlaq (éthique) Chez Abu ḥayyan Al-tawḥidi : Une Introduction à La Lecture De Kitab Aḫlaq Al-wazirayn

Résumé : Dans cet article, nous tentons une lecture de Kitâb aḫlâq al-Wazîrayn d’Abû Ḥayyân al-Tawḥîdî (m. vers 1023), en ayant pour objectif principal de répondre à deux questions fondamentales : premièrement, quel sens al-Tawḥîdî conférait-il au terme Aḫlâq qu’il avait choisi d’intégrer dans le titre de son ouvrage ? Deuxièmement, quel fut le propos exact de ce texte, c’est-à-dire quelle fut la visée philosophico-éthique d’al-Tawḥîdî en écrivant et publiant cet ouvrage ? Ces deux questions sont indissociables, car de la manière dont nous reconstruirons le sens donné par al-Tawḥîdî au concept de aḫlâq dépendra totalement la portée que nous conférerons au propos de l’ouvrage tout entier : sur quel plan et dans quel champ de pensée al-Tawḥîdî entendait-il situer le débat dans cet ouvrage ? Dans le champ des préceptes de la morale religieuse ou dans celui de l’éthique élaborée dans le cadre de l’adab ? Abstract : In this article we attempt a reading of Abû Ḥayyân al-Tawḥîdî’s Kitâb aḫlâq al-Wazîrayn, with the main objective of answering two basic questions: first, what meaning did al-Tawḥîdî give to the term Aḫlâq which he had chosen to include in the title of his work? Secondly, what was the exact purpose of this text, that is to say what was al-Tawḥîdî’s philosophico-ethical aim in writing and publishing this work? These two questions are closely interrelated because the way in which we reconstruct the meaning given by al-Tawḥîdî to the concept of aḫlâq will completely determine the reach we will confer to the whole work: on what level and in what latitude of thought did al-Tawḥîdî intend to set the debate in this book ? Is it in the field of the precepts of religious morality or is it in the field of ethics developed within the framework of the adab ?
