The "monster" is one of the predominant themes found in fantasy literature. In this article, we propose to reflect on the question of the nature and the appearance of the monstrosity in human nature, we will examine the phenomenon of the (in) visibility of the monster we meet in the stories fantastic, this led us to work on the character of Jekyll /Hyde Stevenson who deals with the issue of Double Mr Hyde (the bad) and Jekyll (the good). We will deduce later if it would be two dissociable or complementary characters.
