Résumé

Even today, foreign language teaching is still dominated by instrumental approaches, which do not take enough into consideration whether the learner's culture and his mother tongue's competence nor the cultural dimension of the language taught. Cross-cultural approaches are seen as a step which, on the one hand, do not elude the historical, social and cultural dimension of the target language and, on the other, do not ignore the linguistic and cultural specificities of the learner.
