This study investigates the orientalists' translations of the names of Qur'an Surahs which involve drawbacks since they may be altered for literal and connotative meanings. Our research lies in two distinct dimensions of knowledge: First: A comparative approach of the translators' works: What they accomplished and what they attempted to achieve. Second: The findings of old theories in terms of the uniqueness of Qur'an and being distinct from humans' speech. Such evidence may be used in the context of imitation and translation. It is from this perspective that we understand the inaccurate interpretation as well as the unfaithful translation.
Translation, Qur’an, names of Qur’an Surahs, orientalists, inimitability.
