Abstract
The persent paper is an attempt to explore the drama of the contemporay english dramatist peter shaffer (b.1926) with a particular to his amadeus (19881)and his historicist reading of the historical rivaly between the two composes ( mozart and salieri) and its vast artistic and thematic implications. The abjective dehind the study is to show the psychological moral and psycological implements stemming from the tatict struggle between two composers . The conclusio stresses the fact the shaffers ply is a deep study of the nature of professionnel jealousy and its roots as weel as its destructive repercussions moreover it turnes out That art Can Be a double –edged weapon and a precarious field that for all its merits and provileges may inflict pains and sufferings on its victim as seen through the situations of both salierii and mozart .
