الملخص
في الوقت الذي تعطلت فيه الرحلات بالمشرق، نلاحظ نهضتها بالغرب الإسلامي حيث جاب أبناؤه الأقطار الإسلامية حاملين رسالتهم الحضارية والفكرية دون أن يصطدموا بقيود سياسية أو جنسية. ذلك أن كفاءة المرء كانت تقدم على لونه أو إقليمه، فكان للوعي الاجتماعي وفضيلة التسامح بين المسلمين أثره في إمتزاج الدم وذوبان المهاجرين في المجتمع. ولم يقصر المغاربة علاقاتهم على دول ما وراء الصحراء، بل نراهم حريصين على تعزيز صلاتهم بالمشرق سواء بنية أداء فريضة الحج أو إستكمال المعارف ولقاء المشايخ وربط السند العلمي وبرز في هذا المجال جملة من الأعلام المغاربة. ولعل أبا الوليد المعروف بإبن الفرضي قد بين في كتابه تاريخ علماء الأندلس جانب الأخذ والعطاء وأحوال الرحالين.
