الملخص
The purpose of this study is the identification of the determinants that have an impact on the import demand by maritime transport in Algeria based on annual accounts during 2000-2015 and by using the method of least squares. The results of this study have shown that port costs are not considered as factors, which limit the movement of imported goods, and moreover there is a strong relationship between the exchange rate and the volume of imports carried out by sea, considered as one of the most important determinants for import demand by maritime transport in Algeria. The results have also confirmed the role and importance of international reserves as a factor determining imports by maritime transport in Algeria
